A Helping Hand

When an exasperated police officer in Delray Beach asked a young offender what would stop him stealing car stereos the response was, "Show me how to install these" and the Delray Beach Youth Charter School was born. A partnership between the police and the city, the school offers tailor-made study programs for young people who have fallen through the cracks of the mainstream school system. Students can access remedial study, vocational skills, can complete their GED or even go on to university.
